May Crosses

Popular May Crosses contest, which are particularly spectacular in the neighbourhoods of San Basilio, San Andrés and San Agustín. The locals get all dressed up to “ir de cruces”, that is, to go out to look at the crosses decorated with flowers, potted plants and embroidered shawls. A sip of wine to the sound of music at each cross is part of the ritual.
