Ermitas

Of interest from a mystical and scenic point of view, the hermitage is a product of the eremitical tradition within Cordoba’s mountains, imported by the cordovan bishop city’s Osio in the 4th century.

The hermitage is located on the Cerro de la Víbora, known as the desert of Nuestra Señora de Belén.

It has a secluded church with interesting and varied works of art.

A Murillesque painting of the Virgen de Belén is worthy of mention, along with the colossal monument of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, positioned to offer a blessing over the city of Cordoba and dominating an extraordinary panorama of the entire Guadalquivir Valley and la Campiña [flat rural cropland].
