Steps descend to the Plaza de Lope de Vega, the heart of the town, and the starting point of the long calle Maestra, along which, a little further down, we come across the iglesia del antiguo convento de San Francisco, which dates back to the 16th century.
It is a Baroque temple with a Latin-cross plan, wherein special attention should be drawn to the raised altar, from the latter part of the 18th century, boasting ornate Rococo decoration.
