The Puerta de Cordoba leads to the Iglesia de San Francisco [church], which belonged to an old Franciscan convent.
Construction of the temple began in 1694 and it follows the model of a Baroque convent church with a Latin-cross plan and oval cupola over the cross aisle.
The walls are decorated with fresco paintings.
The temple boasts a Baroque altarpiece from approximately 1730, with ancoeval image of Jesús Nazareno, patron of Baena.
