Built on a site formerly occupied by a mosque, work on San Miguel began at the end of 13th century and was completed in the early 15th century.
Since then, the church has undergone a great deal of reform, especially in the 18th and 19th centuries.
Two buttresses frame the main facade, which boasts a pointed arch and is topped with a central rose window, flanked by two smaller windows.
Inside, attention should be drawn to the Capilla de los Vargas, an example of Cordoba’s Mudejar architecture, along with the high Baroque altarpiece and the Capilla del Sagrario, both dating from the 18th century.
