La Puerta de la Villa

Next to the porticoes of the Town Hall we find the Puerta de la Villa, with a lowered horseshoe arch and two lateral columns with Gothic bases, all built in stonework.

The Puerta de la Villa is evidence of the town’s medieval past and was formed a part of the surrounding walls, which were erected in the 15th century.

In the past the Puerta marked the end of the urban quarter, which today is extended along calle Peñalta.
