Parroquia de San Mateo

The parish church of San Mateo, in the Plaza de la Iglesia, dates from the end of the 15th or the early 16th century and possesses a single nave with pointed transverse arches.

A century later, Hernán Ruiz III carried out the construction of the apse, with has a lowered cupola supported on granite arches.

The doorways were built at the same time as the apse, both the doorway on the gospel side and the doorway that opens in the main façade, which is prolonged by a tower.
