The Copper Mines of Cerro Muriano have been in use since the calcolithic period.
They lie between the municipal areas of Obejo and Cordoba, to the north-east of Cerro Muriano and to the south-east of Obejo.
The remains of the foundries of these copper mines, which were exploited by English companies, are a true testament to one of the main industries in Cordoba between the late 19th century and early 20th century.
Indeed, the mines are to be declared an Asset of Cultural Interest within the Historical Site category.
