The Puerta del Puente was erected to celebrate the visit of Phillip II in 1570.
Designed by Hernán Ruiz III, the edifice takes the form of a triumphal arch.
The arch possesses a single opening, and the lintel is structured into voussoirs, whilst each side sports two Dorian columns resting on embossed bases.
The columns support an entablature that is completed with a great cornice.
