In September, Moriles is filled with the hustle and bustle of grape harvesters and presses that are used to extract the must, which, after ageing in cellars, is transformed into an incomparable wine.

The three presses that existed in the region of Zapateros in the middle of the 18th century gave rise to the hamlet within the territory of Aguilar bearing this name. In 1912, as a result of the efforts of the member of parliament for the district, José Fernández Jiménez, the hamlet became an independent municipality and adopted the name of Moriles, in reference to the Moriles Altos and Moriles Bajos, areas close to the hamlet that are famous for the quality of their wines.
